Man VS. Fish

South West Washington

Bruce Warren of Fishing For Fun Guide Service uses his 23 foot North River Scout to get his  Washington resident client Evan Libby to a hot bite in South West Washington.

Limit in Tillamook

The craziest thing that happened in my boat is a female client passed out while fishing (luckily she was seated) and wanted to continue fishing! She went on to catch her limit of Fall Chinook in Tillamook Bay.

Sitting in Style and Riding in Total Comfort

Idahoan clients out on a South West Washington river, where the bite was.  They were begging for more!  They got hooked, sitting in style running up the river in total comfort in my 23' North River Scout!

2007 Fort Umpqua Days Bass Tournament

Mitchell, Brandon, and Gary Bowen used their North River Drifter to catch these Small Mouth bass in the 2007 Fort Umpqua Days Bass Tournament on the Umpqua River. This boat fishes awesome and got us to the big fish! We took first place in the tournament and put North River at the top of the leader board!

Great Boat!

Seahawk OS 28'

The boats are fish catching machines and the ride in rough water is better than anything I've been in here in Alaska!

Where Have All The Salmon Gone?

Many of us remember "Where Have All The Flowers Gone". Now the question is ....Where have all the salmon gone. With the loss of salmon runs in northern California, Oregon and other Pacific northwest river, the next few years may see minimal fishing opportunities for salmon until such time that the runs can recover. Yes, there are lots of reasons. Climate, loss of spawning habitat, over fishing by some groups and perhaps a little forgetfulness by all of us regarding the "slim edge" on which much of our wildlife survives. For sure this "wake up" call has caused me to reconsider my fishing habits and those of my clients. How bad do I really need to kill and keep a salmon? Especially, how bad do I need to kill a hen and cure her eggs. Is total catch and release an answer that just might help preserve this precious treasure. Yeah, I know ..they're all going to die anyway.. and if someone's going to catch them it might as well be me. Wait .... what am I saying. Were Have All The Salmon Gone.......... Long time passing.... long time ago.............? Hopefully not on my watch.

Monster Trout

Catching 8-15 LBS. trout is a common thing in rufus woods. Fishing out of a 21' Trapper, We anchored up to the Pen's and I reeled in this 12 LBS. Trip. trout. You can throw out about any lure in your box, and reel in a monster. Four of us limited out in about 20 Min., I recomend fishing this upper part of the colombia during the winter to catch big fish. First year out of a North River

I bought my boat last year with the intention of trying new fisheries and enjoying all that Pacific Northwest has to offer. I went out at shilshole bay with my friend Mark Combs on May 2nd(niether one of us ever fishing for Ling Cod before). I would say we did okay for our first time. Thank you North River for a craft that made it safe to do this in rough May weather. Patrick Flaherty

Lower Columbia River

I fish about 70 days on the Lower Columbia River and that ban be some very rough water at times, especially when the winds pick up.  I also fish the Clackamas River with low water conditions making fishing a challenge.  I fish Tillamook Bay on an average of 60 days a year and without a shallow drafting boat I couldn't my best job for my clients.
