At North River Boats, every detail serves a purpose. From hull design to layout, each boat is engineered with intention. But with that level of craftsmanship comes something else: features, options, and capabilities that aren’t always obvious at first glance.

That’s exactly why we’re launching our new “Did You Know?” series. This series is designed to give both current and future North River owners a clearer understanding of what goes into every build. Some of it answers common questions, some highlights features you may not even realize are there, and some breaks down the differences between what comes standard and what can be customized to fit your needs. The more you know, the better you can build.

In our first installment, North River’s Chris Roberts walks through key features found on the Seahawk Outboard, Fastback, and Hard Top models, starting with one of our most popular platforms. The Seahawk Outboard is built to perform in real conditions. With a 42-degree hull entry and an 18-degree transom deadrise, paired with an 8-foot-6-inch beam and a .250 thick bottom, the ride is designed to stay smooth, stable, and confident even in choppy water. The structure behind that ride is just as important. With 35-inch sides and a lifetime limited hull warranty, this is a platform built to last and built to be trusted.

Across these models, you will find thoughtful, functional features already built in. The Seahawk Outboard comes standard with rear cowling storage boxes that provide practical, easy-access storage without compromising the layout. In the cockpit, a center-floor fishbox with a drain and valve is integrated directly into the aft deck, making it easy to keep things clean and organized during a full day on the water. You will also find features like dual bilge pumps with auto float, dual batteries with an ACR system, and a washdown pump, all designed to improve reliability, safety, and usability on the water. Suspension helm seats add another layer of comfort, especially on longer runs or rougher days.

For many owners, this is where customization begins to take shape. One of the most popular upgrades is adding a transom door, which provides easier access to the back of the boat when loading gear or moving around on the water. Overhead, the standard deluxe folding top offers flexibility, while an optional rigid aluminum frame with integrated lighting and rod holders creates a more permanent, fully outfitted structure for those who want it. Finishing details can also be tailored. Zolatone interior coatings come in standard stone finishes but can also be color-matched to the exterior, creating a clean, cohesive look while maintaining durability.

The goal of the “Did You Know?” series is simple. It is to give you a deeper understanding of what makes a North River a North River. No two owners use their boat the same way, and no two boats should be the same either. Whether it is how you fish, where you run, or how you outfit your deck, every decision matters, and every feature is there for a reason.

As this series continues, we will take a closer look at specific models, features, and configurations to help you better understand what is possible and what might make the most sense for your build. If there is something you would like to learn more about, reach out or connect with your local dealer. Because when you know more, you can build your North River your way.
